Healthy Lymph = Healthy Body = Healthy Skin
The Lymphatic System – The Body’s Waste Removal System That YOU Have to Activate!
The lymphatic system acts somewhat like the “sewage system of the body”- a complex network of vessels and organs that recycles body fluid, in the form of “lymph”, targeting and removing invading bacteria, viruses and waste. The lymph system, for example, bathes every cell, carrying nutrients to the cell and waste products away. If it becomes stagnant, the cells are left stewing in their own waste products and starving for nutrients, a situation that contributes to infections, arthritis, cancer and other degenerative diseases. By allowing your body to release toxins, accumulated fluid, and proteins between the cells, healthy balance is restored. The lymph is dependent on physical movement, deep breathing, exercise, rebounding or lymphatic stimulation therapy to move. This improves your lymphatic fluid flow and accelerates detoxification of your tissues. This leads to more vitality, relief of aches and pains, aids with common ailments such as sinus, flu, colds, chronic disease support and faster healing. This waste disposal system relies completely on our movement, unlike for example the cardiovascular system where the heart automatically pumps fluid. When the lymphatic system becomes overloaded and unhealthy, we become vulnerable to a vast amount of illnesses and problems- just imagine the toxic overload of not removing the waste from your body! The Lymph Star Pro is a therapeutic, vibrational instrument with a unique combination of energetic modalities. Modalities include physical vibration with sonic, or acoustic waves, an electro-static field created using multiple treatment points. All the emissions are extremely low in energy, so they are gentle and safe. The Lymph Star Pro is widely regarded as state-of-the-art in the industry. An hour session incorporating the Lymph Star Pro (non-invasive procedure) is as effective as 6-8 hours of manual lymph drainage alone! With Lymphatic Enhancement Therapy (LET) you are receiving a deeper more penetrable therapy in a fraction of the time. The Lymph Star Pro utilizes light and sound to decongest trapped proteins and congestion within lymph nodes and the lymph system, allowing waste products and toxins to safely flow out and exit the body. Despite its understated and delicate technique, Lymphatic Therapy is one of the most relaxing, satisfying types of bodywork available. Although it is deceptively gentle it has a powerful effect on swelling and puffiness throughout the body. Since our bodies are primarily made up of fluids, it’s not hard to see how improving lymphatic flow could produce numerous benefits for our health and vitality. While some results may be seen or felt immediately, the body will continue to detox (rid itself of fluids and toxins) for a period of up to 72 hours following a therapy session. The effects of lymphatic therapy are cumulative; the benefits are increased by the number of sessions you receive. Lymphatic Therapy is both preventive and restorative as it enhances the body’s natural immune system, making it better equipped to help heal itself.

What does a treatment consist of?During a session you relax on a plush treatment table modestly draped with linens (much like you would be for a massage) – the only area exposed is the area being treated at the time. Two glass wands filled with noble gases (the Lymphstar) are glided over the body in a choreographed sequence (from head to toe) to ensure the proper routing and drainage of the lymph fluid. It is a light touch pressure, non-invasive, no heat or uncomfortable sensation is felt by the client in anyway. There is a light humming sound emitted from the wands (I refer to as “chirping crickets”) – the background music usually covers the sound, but clients that do hear it say they find it soothing and it often lulls them to sleep. A first session can often take longer than 60 minutes – as its impossible to know the level of congestion someone has until they are “in” a treatment. Because lymph clusters need to be cleared in succession, you cannot move to another area until the current area is “cleared”, doing so can cause additional inflammation and congestion. As an example, try and think of your lymphatic system as a freeway and the node clusters as intersections. If there a traffic jam at the intersection you cannot simply go around, you need to clear the traffic jam so there is a path for the flow of cars. If you keep driving cars into the intersection it will compound the issue and create and even bigger backup. It’s the same with lymph – you MUST clear congestion in sequence along the way so that the lymph may move freely throughout the vessels. It is a peaceful and relaxing service. Most clients drift off to sleep – and I consider that the ultimate compliment. The best healing happens when you relax! At the end of your session, you are given a bottle of electrolyte water to start replenishing essential minerals. It is vital to rehydrate – drink, drink, drink! This will help to ensure you do not get a detox headache as well as help to flush out the toxins from your system.
Benefits of Lymphatic Therapy: Every part of the body is influenced by the lymphatic system, because no matter what the purpose of the cells, they all need nourishing and cleaning. It's important in immunity, inflammation and healing in general, so an efficient lymphatic system is going to help in many areas. Lymphatic enhancement therapy is a way to achieve that efficiency. • Skin care: For a clearer complexion and to reduce acne as clogged pores are usually an indication of a congested lymphatic system. Also to lessen the appearance of fine lines/wrinkles in facial tissue. • Detox: Improve digestion and reduce sluggishness brought on by bad food choices or not enough exercise. • Headache: Most headaches, including sinusitis, have a component of congestion that responds well to lymphatic drainage. This includes Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)• Promote healing: After surgery (cosmetic or otherwise), injury or any illness. It helps to minimize bruising and speed up the healing process. Pre-op to boost your immune system.• Reduce swelling: After long periods of immobility, fluid tends to stagnate in the tissue making it puffy and tender. Conditions such as arthritis often have joints that are congested with fluid. • Relaxation: A gentle treatment that alleviates stress. People will notice improvements in their level of well-being. The benefits are endless. • Pain Management• Treating Lymphedema caused by Cancer treatment• Swollen ankles and hands during pregnancy• Promoting the healing of fractures and ligaments and reducing associated pain• Improving scars and stretch marks• Weight loss• Reduce symptoms for some chronic illnesses, such as Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome• Improve circulation, increase joint flexibility and reduce mental & physical fatigue. Also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety/stress and create an overall sense of well-being.
How often should you have Lymphatic Enhancement Therapy? The treatment is safe, noninvasive and gentle enough to have every day, but that obviously is not realistic for most clients. If we are treating a chronic condition or we are working on removing large amounts of edema from a specific area of the body, a series of sessions will be required to see optimal results. The exact number of sessions will depend on the client, the condition for which you are seeking therapy and your body’s response to the treatment. It is also vital that after treatment you drink plenty of fluids to help flush the toxins from your body – that is your “homework”. I can do my part, but for the treatment to be successful you need to do your part as well and that is stay fully hydrated! Water! Water! Water! Knowing that your body will continue to flush for up to 72 hrs after a session, I usually recommend my clients wait 3 days in between appointments. Give your body time to do what it is meant to do. Is there anyone who is NOT a candidate for Lymphatic Enhancement Therapy?YES! The following are contraindications for Lymphatic Enhancement therapy. If any of these apply to you I am not able to treat you with Lymphatic Enhancement therapy at the present time.• Pace Maker• Deep Vein Thrombosis / blood clot • Heart arryhythmia • Active Acute Infection• Congestive Heart Failure • Currently taking immuno-suppressants Symptoms of Lymph Blockage: The lymph system cleans almost every one of your body’s cells, so when you have a chronic lymph blockage, you will feel it quickly and can suffer symptoms throughout your entire body. Symptoms of chronic lymph blockage include:
